FIRSTLY, We love to travel! …and that is why we do this.
At a certain point, however, we realized that this little blogging hobby has expenses of its own (hosting, tools, equipment, etc.) and it would be great if it could support itself. So here we are. Outlined below are a few disclosures that the FTC really wants us to make clear to all of you, our beloved readers, about how we earn a little money to support this blog.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU, OUR READERS
We promise to maintain the strictest editorial integrity in all that we share with you, both on this website and on our social media channels. We know that if we give you lousy advice you probably won’t be back. The commitment we have made to readers is to only ever promote products, brands, and travel destinations with which we have had first-hand personal experience and have found value. These are things we think you guys would like to know about and could possibly benefit from.
No additional cost to you.
Using the links throughout this site to make your purchases and bookings is at no additional cost to you and will sometimes get you rewards in return (such as signing up for the first time with Airbnb or Uber). Doing so does, however, provide us a return for the time and effort required to provide you with our recommendations, which we hope you find helpful. Curious about something in particular? Let us know!
HOW WE ARE COMPENSATED FROM THIS BLOG
Native Shopping Ads
We use Amazon’s Native Shopping Ads throughout this website as a source of online income. The content of these ads may be based on your shopping history or the content of that particular page. When you click on these ads and subsequently make a purchase on Amazon within 24 hours of clicking on the link, we get a small (pennies on the dollar) commission. Using these links do not change the price you pay.
Affiliate Links & Programs
There are affiliate links from various companies (including Amazon, Booking.com, and other businesses we have partnered with) sprinkled throughout this site. When you click on one of these links and make a subsequent purchase or booking (again, usually within 24 hours), we earn a small commission. The amount of the commission we receive is, again, usually pennies on the dollar and never affects the price you pay for the product or service.
We love working with brands and destinations to help get the word out about what makes their product or destination unique and worth trying out! Sometimes we get monetary compensation, meals, accommodations, experiences, flights, swag, etc provided to us in exchange for our services. These perks never, ever change our opinion on the product. We only work with companies we feel good about and trust. We can only live with ourselves if we report honestly! If we received compensation for our opinion and services, we will say so in the post.
OTHER AVENUES OF COMPENSATION
Freelance Writing, Photography, & Graphics
Sometimes we provide articles and photos for other online or print publications. They need content and we can provide it!
From time to time, we will partner with entities to provide advice and support for things such as getting started, online presence, setting up or streamlining websites, setting up social media channels, developing a social media strategy, photography coaching, IT services, or anywhere else our skills can be applied to help others.
Work with us!
Do you represent a brand, product, or amazing destination and want to let the world know about it? We would love to see what we can do to both help you reach your goals, and provide our readers with valuable information and recommendations! (NOTE: Must be travel / nomadic life related.)
