Vamos a la playa! … Spanish for, “Let’s go to the beach!”
Here’s a tip for all the Northwest natives out there… if you ever want to actually see a lunar eclipse you have to get away from the cloudy skies! Mexico was perfect for this. It was almost as cool of an experience as seeing the solar eclipse of 2017 from the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
If you’ve been following our channel, then you know we love sharing about the foods we find on our travels and this video is no different. This episode will not disappoint all you foodies out there. We hit La Playita and Kai Pez in the town of Bacalar, and also share a special traditional Sunday breakfast we enjoyed at our Chetumal airbnb.
In case you have never tried Airbnb, we just have to say that it is a must for cultural travel, especially internationally. Use this link to sign up and you’ll get credit towards your first Airbnb stay or experience (and we’ll get a little, too!)
We’re also going to chat a little about how we’ve felt about safety while traveling in Mexico and safety during the US government shutdown over the border wall. Our family has been concerned, but how is it affecting our interactions with the people of Mexico?
Up for some exploring?
Not far from Bacalar, you’ll find the Dzibanche Mayan Ruins. This hidden gem of Quintana Roo is definitely worth checking out.

Our Intro to International Digital Nomad Life… A Month in Mexico
We’ve been working toward location independent, digital nomad life for a while and we’ve finally achieved it! Sometimes we’re in the PNW living the RV Life, sometimes we are traveling the US on business, but this video comes to you during a month we spent in southern Mexico testing the waters of international digital nomad life.
