A Typical Spring Road Trip to Great Falls… This Was NOT in the Forecast

A Montana road trip between Billings and Great Falls always brings a little adventure. We set out on a beautiful spring day, nothing but blue skies in the forecast. And then this happens… again. Seriously!?

In this video we head to Great Falls, Montana with a load for the kids. We are downsizing, moving toward the minimalist lifestyle in preparation for some major changes. Why wait until we are old to pass on ‘all the things’? They are setting up house and we are getting ready for life on the go… it’s perfect.

You will also see a bit of the house that we are working on and the progress of the renovation. One of our strategies to fund our location independent lifestyle is passive income via residential rental properties. The current project is a HUD foreclosure that we purchased in February this year. Our kids are our first tenants while we are working on the rehab.

One of the challenges of a location independent lifestyle at this stage in life is the inevitable distance from family. Especially now that grandkids are on the way. Family has always been a huge priority for us and that will never change. We are doing what we can now to help the kids get settled and stable. They know that even though we will be wanderlusting our hearts out in the coming years, that we are always only a phone call away.
